rsc left a comment (golang/go#61898) I think it is probably time to wind down this proposal. Well-past time actually. It was a good discussion, but I don't think we have consensus on really adding any of these to the standard library and encourage what in many cases is overabstraction (even though in some cases it is not). Most importantly, if we're not going to do xiter, we should stop talking about it and create more space for third-party packages, instead of standing in their way. We licked the cookie, but the cookie is now quite stale. Better to toss it and let other people bake some new ones.
